Poverty...

I was able to watch these video clips courtesy of pinoychannel.tv

The name of the tv show is called "Imbestigador" (investigator), hosted by Mike Enriquez, one of the Philippines' respectable broadcaster.

For the first part of the show. It tackles about kids who go caroling in the middle of busy streets of Metropolis etc. As you can see in the clips. The money that some of the kids received, they buy food with it while others use the money to gamble with other kids. It is so sad to see that at a very young age, these kids are already exposed to such bad elements. For me, I believe that poverty is the culprit in this scenario. This little kids should be in school studying or better yet at home playing where they would be safe from harm.

http://www.pinoychannel.tv/watch/v-100557

The second clip is about a kid named "Jepoy". The story, Jepoy is being by his mother. Lesions, bruises, and scars covered the kids body. Among his siblings, he is the only one who is tied up and kept in a small confinement in their home while his mother go out gambling. I find it disturbing for a mother to treat her children like this. What harm can a 4 year old do? Even the older sister would tie up her little brother! Absurd! Now he is under the care in an adoption center, now I hope that the child would grow up better than his parents. At the tender young age of Jepoy, traumas can stick to him like glue. The blame? Stupidity of the mother, I beleive she knows already that they can't provide enough for her kids but why keep on making them? How come the older kids can play while Jepoy is left tied up like a pig on the kitchen floor covered with trash? Instead of having or doing a decent job, all she does is go out and play "tong its".

http://www.pinoychannel.tv/watch/v-100558

The third clip is about child labor, A mother asking for help to have her son to be freed from labor in Batangas. The mother of the boy is asking for help to have her son removed from the place (Boy was complaianing that they had insufficient food and bad pay.). The owner of the farm states that the kid can not be released because of the money they owed (Around 17000 or 70000 Php I beleive.). As much as the mother and the aunt pleaded to talk to the kid, the so called "Manager" said they can't rest for now because of the work that would be left undone. When they got a chance to talk to the kid, the kid asked if he can go home with them but still the "Manager" would not allow them. My blame Stupidity, the owner is old as a boar and I beleive as a businessman, he knows the laws stipulated. The owner is such an imbessile! I don't think a reason such as "I only give out the money" is good enough. Being a businessman means you have to overlook all of the operations, hiring and everything. I can't blame the kids if they wanted to work so that they can help their parents. Okay, so they are working far from their homes, haviong inadequate food and lodging that leads to sickness.

Will poverty be erased from the face of the earth? Will the powerful people help elivate the problems connected to poverty?

Poverty is like a cancer that envelopes a person as a whole. Yet, people should not blame poverty when they cna't eat any food on their table. There are people who are in poverty who are trying their darnest to elivate their stature in life, little by little. It is something that we as people can do about it. Are we to damn selfish to think about other people?

I know they can rather we can do the change, but what is the hindrance?

legos.. starwars...

For the past few days, I became a bit engrossed with my nephew's legos.. there was the AT ST, AT TE and the twilight..

This is what is consuming my time for now.. Other than the my enthusiasm for star wars lego, I was enamored by one of it's villian's, Darth Maladi.

The twilight

AT ST

AT TE

My all time Favorite character.. Darth Maladi

Darth Maladi was a Devaronian female who served as a Sith Lady in Darth Krayt's Sith Order during Krayt's reign as Emperor. She was the head of Sith Intelligence and Assassination, adept in the ways of inquisition and torture, and a specialist in the art of mental manipulation.

A skilled scientist, she tirelessly experimented with ways to pervert science to serve the Sith cause, and also manufactured and dealt the narcotic ixetal cilona. She was responsible for the sabotage of the government-sponsored project to terraform Ossus. Maladi, along with High Moff Morlish Veed, the leader of the Council of Moffs, and his partner, Nyna Calixte, the Director of Imperial Intelligence, started the Sith-Imperial War in 127 ABY, which saw the near-destruction of the Galactic Alliance, the leading government at the time, and the New Jedi Order—the major opponents of the Sith.

In 137 ABY, Krayt ordered Maladi to find and dispose of the former Emperor, Roan Fel, and to capture Cade Skywalker, the last remaining member of the Skywalker family. Though she failed with the former task, the Sith were able to capture Skywalker, whom Maladi tortured to find his limits. However, Skywalker escaped, and Maladi was forced to work with Rav, a Feeorin pirate for whom Skywalker had once worked, to find the fugitive.

Personality & Traits

"As you will, my Lord."
"Yes, Maladi. Always as I will."
―Darth Maladi, acknowledging her loyalty to Darth Krayt

Darth Maladi, like most Sith in Darth Krayt's New Sith Order, knew complete obedience to her Master. She always completed his orders as asked, though she sometimes wondered about some of Krayt's decisions, such as why he wanted Cade Skywalker alive.Maladi often tortured individuals, and took pride when she was able to successfully extract information out of them, evidenced when she garnered information about Skywalker from Hosk Trey'lis. Maladi was often in control of sentients, and barked commands at Nyna Calixte and Trey'lis, much like her Master Krayt did himself.

As the head of Sith Intelligence and Assassination, Maladi was adept at manipulating individuals without using the Force; along with Krayt, she instigated the Sith-Imperial War by manipulating Morlish Veed into an alliance with the Sith, convincing him that the Sith were going to seat him as Emperor, though Maladi instead put him in a position of servitude to Krayt.

Maladi loved to scheme the demise of others. She molded the perfect assassin in Darth Kruhl, who was ready to die in order to kill Roan Fel. When that failed, Maladi revealed that Kruhl had been part of a larger scheme to kill Roan Fel, and that she was planning to mold another to finally place the final killing stroke. However, Maladi's scheming sometimes blinded her, and she was so enamored with her plans that she almost lost sight of her Krayt-given goal—to eliminate Roan Fel. On one occasion, Krayt had to remind her to keep sight of her goal to kill Fel before she became too consumed with plotting. She was ruthless to this end, and did not suffer the failures of her subordinates gladly, evidenced when she executed Vikar Dorn for his blunder during the assassination attempt on Emperor Fel's life.

Maladi was also confident in the stability of the New Sith Order, believing that they were more successful than the older Sith, though Nyna Calixte believed that the present day Sith were like the Sith of old, and that that reminiscent quality was going to be the demise of Maladi and the rest of the Sith.

Maladi also had a different skin color than most Devaronian females, as well as little fur on her body, while most females of her species had a good deal of fur that was naturally white. Maladi's skin color and fur quantities, however, was the result of genetics.

Thug MAYOR

I was able to read a blog about Mayor Nasser Pangandaman Jr. on how he and his other associates clobbered a 56 year old guy and 14 year old boy.

So who the hell is Mayor Nasser Pangandaman Jr.?

Mayor Nasser Pangandaman Jr., serves the city of Masui City of Lanao Del Sur and is also the son of DAR Sec. Nasser Pangandaman.

Sec Pangandaman wearing the striped suite.

As relayed by Bambee Dela Paz in her blog. The mayor showed how unruly and rude he was. I may not be a pro golfer but you would know Etiquettes.

Etiquettes - n. The practices and forms prescribed by social convention or by authority.
So, how does the story go?
(from Bambee's blog )

"My brother and I were playing golf at the South Course of Valley. We were on the 3rd hole, and we see two golf carts going past us, overtaking our flight, and setting up to tee off on the next hole. My dad goes up to them and asks them why they would do that, why they would overtake us without even asking for our permission. Golf etiquette 101. One of the guys says that they’re with the flight in front of us. (So what? That doesn’t give them the right to just pass us WITHOUT asking.) So, we go to the 5th hole. The flight behind us catches up with us, and asks us what caused the hold up. We said that this flight just slipped in front of our flight. So we complained to the marshall. We play the 5th hole and walk towards the next hole, where there is a teehouse, and both the flights in front of us were there, talking with the marshall. The mayor of Masiu City, Lanao del Sur talks with my dad. Things get heated up. Voices were raised. But never, in my wildest dreams, did I ever imagine that someone would pull out a punch. Apparently not. He attacks my father. His flightmates, maybe 2 or 3 of them, rush to his aid and beat up my father. My 56-year-old father. My younger brother and I could not just watch. We rushed to break the fight. My younger brother pleads to the mayor to please stop it. To not hurt my dad. To just stop. His words still ring through my head…”Sorry na po, sorry na po…tama na…tama na po…” With his hands in front of his chest in a praying position. PLEADING. The mayor socks him in the face. My brother defended himself. My dad is still on the ground getting clobbered. My brother is the same way. I try to stop the fight, but all I can do is stop one person. There were 4 or 5 of them attacking now.

Someone breaks up the fight. I thought it was all over. The mayor shouts to his caddy: “Hindi nila kami kilala! Sabihin mo nga sa kanila kung sino ako!” And believe me, I had no idea who this person was. But now I know. He’s the person who, with 4 other men, beat up my 56-year-old father and my 14-year-old brother. He’s the person who sacks a pleading 14-year-old kid in the face. He’s a person who, I am sure, is gonna rot in hell.

I lash out, but my dad held me back. I was screaming my lungs out, shouting to this mayor, telling him about what he had done. I said: “Nakakahiya kayo. Singkwenta’y sais anyos ang tatay ko. And kapatid ko kakatorse anyos. Anong ilalaban nila sayo?”

The mayor looks at my brother, point to his face, and says, “Tatandaan kita!” And he tells me that my brother has a bad attitude and that I need to watch him. WHAT THE HELL?! So, my brother’s bad for defending his father?!

We leave. We walk to the clubhouse to file a complaint. My brother asks for a doctor. My dad could barely walk. Their group comes to the clubhouse, sees my brother. Once again my brother pleads, says sorry, and is crying. He was CRYING, for crissakes. But no. The relentless mayor still punches him in the face, and then sees my dad and goes after my dad again. Him and his friend pull my dad to the ground, pulls at his feet, and steps on him like he’s dirt. I run to him and try to hold him back, holding him back by his shirt, while this other guy and this girl tries to stop me. She tells me to just stop it. I scream in her face “they’re beating my father up and you want me to stop?!” I pull at his shirt–I don’t let go. All I can see was my dad being trampled on. I didn’t even see my brother getting beat up.

People pull them away. I get my dad, and I saw my brother. His right ear was bleeding. I freaked out. I told the receptionists to bring my brother to the clinic. I pull my dad away. People were separating us...

....Two of the mayor’s bodyguards pull out guns. I embraced my brother from the back, just holding him back, crying. The receptionists came to us, crying, hugging me, my dad, and my mom, whispering to us to just leave. “Maam, umalis na po kayo, may mga baril sila…Maam…umalis na po kayo please…”

I am pretty sure the Secretary of DAR did not take part in the fight, but he just watched all this happen. He watched two of his sons, as we figured out, the other guy was his son, too, beat up my father and my 14-year-old brother. He didn’t do anything to stop it. And this person is what now? A cabinet member. A politician.

** Do you think that this person posses moral values? Etiquettes? DOES HE SET A GOOD EXAMPLE FOR THE YOUNGER GENERATION?

NO he does not. And the way when he said “Hindi nila kami kilala! Sabihin mo nga sa kanila kung sino ako!”. It just shows how arrogant this ingrate is. He was jsut there prancing around, rambling, flaunting and viciously presents how he was brought up by his family.

When you or someone you know, relative etc is in a position where everything is seen through the microscope. Where the people look up to you for protection. When people respect and voted that you would be able to change. WHEN PEOPLE SEE YOU AS A PUBLIC IMAGE.

DO YOU STILL HAVE THE DECENCY TO ACT LIKE A THUG?

If he was well brought by his family or if he is really thinking straight, Mayor Pangandaman Jr. should have just shrugged off the issue and dealt with it with a manly decorumn.

NO, instead of diplomacy. I fixed off the issue with an iron fist. Together with his so called ENTOURAGE, they showed how BAD ASS they can get. That they are in position and should be treated like the Kings. WTF?! Hey you are lowly as everyone else is!

"Sorry na po, sorry na po…tama na…tama na po…” With his hands in front of his chest in a praying position. PLEADING. The mayor socks him in the face.
Thinking about it, is this how our officials, rather their family or friends act towards small matters that can be solved in a peaceful way? A fourteen year old boy pleading already, apologizing even though the fault was not theirs. What a barbaric act I daresay.

It is a fact that most of the officials in the Philippines are corrupt, even the lowest in the ranks are corrupt. However, being barbaric about certain things is unacceptable. If you're thinking straight, thinking like any moral human would do, fists would not be rolling on such a day.

And the irony is that Sec. Pangandaman is in the PEACE PANEL (quoted from reyns).

For the latest Philippine news stories and videos, visit GMANews.TV

Yes, I do have friends whose parents, relatives, etc belong to the so called hierarchy of officials to specific agencies and stuff yet they don't brag about being on top (the last names give way though) and they are humble. One friend is even shy when I saw him being dropped off by escorts. He was even embarrassed when he admitted to me that his father was ***.

This incident reminds me about certain incidents:

brother Tattoo.

It was a Saturday night, Kuya (my older brother) and his wife went out to eat with friends along *** Ave. Unfortunately, while backing up, a chic 4x4 bumped his wife's car. It was a horrible site, all the front bumpers (is it benders or something? lol) fell off. Anyhow, my brother suggested the female driver to go to a near by precinct to report the incident.

To my brother's wife dismay, she saw the girl handing out a calling card of a certain COL. *** PNP (which says "please assist") instead of her identification card. Thalia (**a set name for my brother's wife ) was shocked.

She started asking the girl questions and stuff. The girl said that COL. *** PNP was her uncle.

*Thalia called back home regarding some important papers and information about the car. A person came and the jaws of the people in the precinct dropped. My own *Thalia, I appreciate her, she is not arrogant like this Mayor P. JR. She has her flaws but she never showed arrogance regarding her ___ stature.

Five HEAD
**Five head is my brother's ex-girlfriend who is still bitter up until now. Anyhow, she, her mother and brother are so arrogant regarding her Dad's position in the PNP. Whenever they socialize with other people, they make it a point to let them know that MR.FIVE HEAD is a COLONEL in the PNP.

Whenever I hear her yap about it before, it makes me sick to my ars! FIve HEad, MR. & MRS. FIve HEad, and her bro 5 head are like sec. Pangandaman's son. Arrogant, boasting to the whole world they are in position yet they don't posses such a good example to the public. (Is it right to deprive your child to meet her father? I will be blogging this soon.)

"all politicians are the same... I hope that this wishful thinking is not true.

this type of incidents when a politician in concern should not be brushed off easily.

By his mere actions, his authority is now in question, balancing on a wire & walking on thin ice.

Makes you think if justice still prevails in our country as it's definition is already changing to a different level... "

Yet, everyone (including myself) have their moments of shitness incomparable to anything.
We all pray for justice and hopefully it would push through as justice in our country falls to deaf ears.

JIgoku Shoujo

Jigoko Shojo..

Most of my close friends know how much I adore japanese anime. The animes that I watch range to different types of variety to comedies, romantic comedies, about cars, death, action, adventure etc.

One of my favorites is Jigoko Shoujo, which means Girl from Hell.

Here's an over view:

On the internet is a special website which can only be access at midnight. The rumor is that if you enter the name of someone you seek revenge on the Jigoku Shoujo (Hell Girl) will come and take them to hell. Her name is Enma Ai a young girl with blood red eyes and a cold unwavering stare.

While the anime has a main plot running through it each episode tends to stand alone focusing on some person seeking revenge on another. When someone makes a request through the website Enma comes to them and explains how the contract works. The rule is that she will take the person to hell immediately however as compensation the person requesting revenge will also go to hell, all be it when they die.

The requester is give a doll with a red string and told to except the contract all they have to do is pull the swing. Normally people spend quite a while wrestling with there conscious before finally deciding to pull the string.

After the contract has been made Enma and here assistants ride to the person riding in a flying coach with a burning wheel (actually one of the assistants transformed). There then follows a kind of stalking where they attempt to show the person the error of there ways through an elaborate series of often scary illusions. Finally the Jigoku Shoujo, dressed in a black floral kimono, speaks a few chilling lines and send the person to hell seemingly activating the flowers on her kimono.

One of the main plots threading through the episodes features a father and daughter, Hajime and Tsugumi Shibata. Hajime is a freelance journalist by profession whose wife, and mother of Tsugumi, died in a car crash. Hajime takes an interest in Jigoku Shoujo which slowly grows into an obsession, objecting morally to her actions of sending people to hell in revenge for others.

They are able tell where and when a revenge will take place due to a strange link between Tsugumi and Enma, allowing her to see what Enma sees. This happens randomly, normally when someone is requesting revenge, with Tsugumi going into a trace repeating whatever words Enma is saying. Tsugumi is not so sure that the actions of Enma are wrong, not sharing Hajime's total condemnation of her actions.
It's like watching revenge served in a new certain level. I can't say that it is grotesque but I love the way how the story goes.

It's making a deal. You get what you want and in return, you have to pay something of equal value.

Try to watch it, it's fun for tweens but not good for the younger ones.

holidays!

Omg! It was one weird holiday for me.. There was no Noche Buena (WTF!) and it was sooo boring here in our humble Babuyan Island. Hai HAI HAIzt!

Anyways, christmas went good. There was no noche buena so me and Mspinkbiik decided to watch a marathon of GHOST HUNTERS. I know, this sounds super boring but there was nothing else that we can do about it. I just waited for the hours to tick by and say that it is already 12am and time to sleep.

Too bad, I was not able to go to sleep, so I decided to watch my japanese animes, that kept me up til the next morning. December 25 8 am, mspinkbiik thought I fell asleep with the tv on. WRONG! I was still watching my cartoons (Japanese Anime has this type of humor that no other cartoon has! for me that is.) She woke me up, I asked her if I can open up "My gift." I tried to be excited as much as possible but it did not feel it. I never felt the excitement nor hear the ghoslty bells ringing about the gifts that I am going to receive. I am forever thankful though even though they were such small simple things yet hand picked for (correction, I picked the gifts. lol )

During the 25th, we went to New York.. Lovely New york! hehehe
The italian dishes that were served to us was very good courtesy of the cooking of *Mr.C. It was a long tiring day. When we got home, me and my nephew started playing with his lego star wars and playing the guitar hero until today(we stopped playing at around 12 am).

I am so excited to go home in a few more ___.. LOL And I can't wait to see my boyfriend and hopefully get a new job soon!

will blog new things soon!

Abortion..

A picture of my wifeImage via WikipediaI can say that I am pro life and such yet there are some boundaries such as this sensitive matter, about abortion. Currently in the Philippines, the government is trying to pass the bill for Reproductive Health. For me, I don't condone it as a negative thing, it is more of a positive sight because it tackles about the health of both mother and child.

I am not saying that I agree to abortion. It just depends on the situation.

Before moving on, let me give you the definition of abortion:

ABORTION
1. Termination of pregnancy and expulsion of an embryo or of a fetus that is incapable of survival.
2. Any of various procedures that result in such termination and expulsion. Also called induced abortion.
2. The premature expulsion of a nonviable fetus from the uterus; a miscarriage.
3. Cessation of normal growth, especially of an organ or other body part, prior to full development or maturation.
4. An aborted organism.
5. Something malformed or incompletely developed; a monstrosity.
The thought of it makes me sick to my stomach. According to Wikipedia there are 2 types of abortion:

1. Spontaneous abortion

Miscarriage

Spontaneous abortion (also known as miscarriage) is the expulsion of an embryo or fetus due to accidental trauma or natural causes before the 20th week of gestation. Most miscarriages are due to incorrect replication of chromosomes; they can also be caused by environmental factors. A pregnancy that ends between 20 and 37 weeks of gestation, if it results in a live-born infant, is known as a "premature birth". When a fetus dies in utero after about 20 weeks, or during delivery, it is usually termed "stillborn". Premature births and stillbirths are generally not considered to be miscarriages although usage of these terms can sometimes overlap.

2. Induced abortion

A pregnancy can be intentionally aborted in many ways. The manner selected depends chiefly upon the gestational age of the embryo or fetus, in addition to the legality, regional availability, and doctor-patient preference for specific procedures. Reasons for procuring induced abortions are typically characterized as either therapeutic or elective. An abortion is medically referred to as therapeutic when it is performed to:

* save the life of the pregnant woman;
* preserve the woman's physical or mental health;[8]
* terminate pregnancy that would result in a child born with a congenital disorder that would be fatal or associated with significant morbidity; or
* selectively reduce the number of fetuses to lessen health risks associated with multiple pregnancy.

But to have abortion for the fetus' sex organ is absurd!

Sex-selective abortion and infanticide

The advent of both sonography and amniocentesis has allowed parents to determine sex before birth. This has led to the occurrence of sex-selective abortion or the targeted termination of a fetus based upon its sex.

It is suggested that sex-selective abortion might be partially responsible for the noticeable disparities between the birth rates of male and female children in some places. The preference for male children is reported in many areas of Asia, and abortion used to limit female births has been reported in Mainland China, Taiwan, South Korea, and India.

In India, the economic role of men, the costs associated with dowries, and a Hindu tradition which dictates that funeral rites must be performed by a male relative have led to a cultural preference for sons.

The Indian government passed an official ban of pre-natal sex screening in 1994 and moved to pass a complete ban of sex-selective abortion in 2002.

In the People's Republic of China, there is also a historic son preference. The implementation of the one-child policy in 1979, in response to population concerns, led to an increased disparity in the sex ratio as parents attempted to circumvent the law through sex-selective abortion or the abandonment of unwanted daughters.

A ban upon the practice of sex-selective abortion was enacted in 2003.

Why not be thankful and content with what the maker has given to you?! Babies are blessings. They are supposed to be cherished and adored. We can use abortion for the right way like indicated on "Induced Abortion" . Hopefully, people should not take advantage of this option.

Universal Declaration of Human Rights

NYC human rightsImage by guzzoe via FlickrI stumbled this on Kebelle's site. He was asking if anyone was aware of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

I had the urge to google it and copy pasted the articles.
(from WIKIPEDIA)
Article 1

All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.

*As much as I want to believe this article, apparently, people who have the intentions of degrading a person's race, ethnicity, culture etc. do not understand this. We can't push people to understand each of our own culture or traditions. They would sometimes think of it as a negative way.

Article 2

Everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration, without distinction of any kind, such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status. Furthermore, no distinction shall be made on the basis of the political, jurisdictional or international status of the country or territory to which a person belongs, whether it be independent, trust, non-self-governing or under any other limitation of sovereignty.
**(** addition) In the blogosphere as a wholr, I believe it is quite impossible to stop bloggers who would cross our paths that we don't agree with their ideas. For some comments that I make, I REALLY MAKE SURE to read the blog of the other person who is being charged with. Like wise here in the U.S. people exercise the First Ammendment.

Article 3

Everyone has the right to life, liberty, and security of person.

** Yes, I agree to this but I find nothing wrong with the Bill for reproductive health. It is not insunuating any bad examples, just precautions. For abortion, it is a different issue that I will tackle soon. In the Philippines, judicial killings is very spread all through out.

Article 4

No one shall be held in slavery or servitude; slavery and the slave trade shall be prohibited in all their forms.

* Made me think of a story about relatives, pushing their nephews and nieces to work for them in exchange for their board and lodging. It is a sad thought on how people would act towards their own blood.

Article 5

No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment or punishment.

*Where ever we go there would be and always will be people who believe in the saying "An eye for an eye, A tooth for a tooth." This is such an old way of settling things. Very Neanderthal. Even our newest heroes, our OFWs, some are being mistreated by their employers. They just judge them from the start and treat them like shit.. I despise those type of people. Think of it as Saddam Hussein & Adolf Hitler.

Article 6

Everyone has the right to recognition everywhere as a person before the law.

** does this apply when visiting other countries? Will be tackled soon too.

Article 7

All are equal before the law and are entitled without any discrimination to equal protection of the law. All are entitled to equal protection against any discrimination in violation of this Declaration and against any incitement to such discrimination.

**this happens all the time all over the world.

Article 8

Everyone has the right to an effective remedy by the competent national tribunals for acts violating the fundamental rights granted him by the constitution or by law.

*Don't you hate some people from the immigration or some officers, how they discriminate people. I am not saying that all are the same just some of them.

Article 9

No one shall be subjected to arbitrary arrest, detention or exile.

Article 10

Everyone is entitled in full equality to a fair and public hearing by an independent and impartial tribunal, in the determination of his rights and obligations and of any criminal charge against him.

Article 11

1. Everyone charged with a penal offence has the right to be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law in a public trial at which he has had all the guarantees necessary for his defence.
2. No one shall be held guilty of any penal offence on account of any act or omission which did not constitute a penal offence, under national or international law, at the time when it was committed. Nor shall a heavier penalty be imposed than the one that was applicable at the time the penal offence was committed.

Article 12
No one shall be subjected to arbitrary interference with his privacy, family, home or correspondence, nor to attacks upon his honour and reputation. Everyone has the right to the protection of the law against such interference or attacks.
Article 13

1. Everyone has the right to freedom of movement and residence within the borders of each state.
2. Everyone has the right to leave any country, including his own, and to return to his country.

Article 14

1. Everyone has the right to seek and to enjoy in other countries asylum from persecution.
2. This right may not be invoked in the case of prosecutions genuinely arising from non-political crimes or from acts contrary to the purposes and principles of the United Nations.

Article 15

1. Everyone has the right to a nationality.
2. No one shall be arbitrarily deprived of his nationality nor denied the right to change his nationality.

Article 16

1. Men and women of full age, without any limitation due to race, nationality or religion, have the right to marry and to found a family. They are entitled to equal rights as to marriage, during marriage and at its dissolution.
2. Marriage shall be entered into only with the free and full consent of the intending spouses.
3. The family is the natural and fundamental group unit of society and is entitled to protection by society and the State.

Article 17

1. Everyone has the right to own property alone as well as in association with others.
2. No one shall be arbitrarily deprived of his property.

Article 18

Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance.

*I really love how my school taught us how to respect different religions and did not brainwash us about negative things.
**It will not do any harm to know the background of some one else's religion, belief, practice, worship etc. Even if it clashes with yours, try to think deeper about this. For example, if you want to go to a foreign country, you would purchase tour/guide books or Google them as well to understand the people as well as to avoid making any rude behaviors.

Article 19

Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers.

*This is the freedom that everyone cherishes. This is what we all take pride in. It is our right and we should all try to exercise it in a good way. As much as we try to do it to sound positive to others, people would still think of it negatively. It is more of respecting each one's opinions and should never be ridiculed. You can not force people to look into your way. That's why we are called human beings.

Article 20

1. Everyone has the right to freedom of peaceful assembly and association.
2. No one may be compelled to belong to an association.

Article 21

1. Everyone has the right to take part in the government of his country, directly or through freely chosen representatives.
2. Everyone has the right of equal access to public service in his country.
3. The will of the people shall be the basis of the authority of government; this will shall be expressed in periodic and genuine elections which shall be by universal and equal suffrage and shall be held by secret vote or by equivalent free voting procedures.

Article 22

Everyone, as a member of society, has the right to social security and is entitled to realization, through national effort and international co-operation and in accordance with the organization and resources of each State, of the economic, social and cultural rights indispensable for his dignity and the free development of his personality.

Article 23

1. Everyone has the right to work, to free choice of employment, to just and favourable conditions of work and to protection against unemployment.
2. Everyone, without any discrimination, has the right to equal pay for equal work.

4. Everyone has the right to form and to join trade unions for the protection of his interests.

Article 24

Article 25

1. Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control.
2. Motherhood and childhood are entitled to special care and assistance. All children, whether born in or out of wedlock, shall enjoy the same social protection.

Technical and professional education shall be made generally available and higher education shall be equally accessible to all on the basis of merit.
2. Education shall be directed to the full development of the human personality and to the strengthening of respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms. It shall promote understanding, tolerance and friendship among all nations, racial or religious groups, and shall further the activities of the United Nations for the maintenance of peace.
3. Parents have a prior right to choose the kind of education that shall be given to their children.

*Apparently this is article is not being exercised in our own country. When the public school is supposedly free, the principal is corrupt. We are losing a lot of good teachers in P.I due to this type of corruption. I feel sad how the innocent children can not get the quality of education ebing taught in exclusive or private schools.

Article 27

1. Everyone has the right freely to participate in the cultural life of the community, to enjoy the arts and to share in scientific advancement and its benefits.
2. Everyone has the right to the protection of the moral and material interests resulting from any scientific, literary or artistic production of which he is the author.

Article 29

1. Everyone has duties to the community in which alone the free and full development of his personality is possible.
2. In the exercise of his rights and freedoms, everyone shall be subject only to such limitations as are determined by law solely for the purpose of securing due recognition and respect for the rights and freedoms of others and of meeting the just requirements of morality, public order and the general welfare in a democratic society.
3. These rights and freedoms may in no case be exercised contrary to the purposes and principles of the United Nations.

Article 30

Nothing in this Declaration may be interpreted as implying for any State, group or person any right to engage in any activity or to perform any act aimed at the destruction of any of the rights and freedoms set forth herein.

(this is still incomplete and will follow up soon =) )

US EMT & HOSPITAL VS Philippine EMT & HOSPITAL

I just want to compare and contrast the hospitals between the US and PI

Now let's have some points in Philippine hospitals
1. The equipment used can meet up to International standards for some hospitals.
2. Some of the nurses are hospitable and some are discriminating base on the bread you have in your pocket.
3. In the ER for some hospitals, you must make a payment first before they can treat you.
4. Some Doctors require instantaneous fees even though they only saw the patient ONCE.
5. Before the EMTS arrived, the patient is already dead. Some would even have the nerve to steal the belongings of the patient, or sexual harass them too.
6. I am very proud for some of our doctors, helping out those in need in the farther places for medical missions.
7. Some doctors explain the sickness or medicine needed by the patients in lay man's terms.
8. Other doctors are opportunists, instead of giving the free medicine that was supplied to them, they would sell them to he patients.
9.Some health aids in our country yearly changes their health coverage.
10.If you were brought to a high class hospital (i.e) The Medical City, I see that they have superb ER services as well as room services. Although it is too pricey, the patient services are exquisite.
11. If you are being treated in a public hospital (I will not say the name), the sanitation is questionable. (Would you ask your patient to pee on the bed when the patient is asking for a bed pan?)
12. Although Sta. Teresita Hospital is not that swanky looking, I give praise to my nieces' Doctor. She was there and being helpful. I still give kudos to this hospital =)
13.If you wanted to eat something while in the ER, YOU NEED TO BUY YOUR OWN FOOD. WITH CHARGE.
14.When discharging a patient with health insurance, it takes them 6-7 hours before discharging them even though the doctor gave them a heads up for release.
15. It is only in the Philippines, there was a lady, who was less fortunate ,who gave birth at a said hospital. Since her husband can only pay a little, the hospital would not let the mother and baby go home. Thus making the hospital bill even more expensive due to their stay there.

US EMT & HOSPITAL
1. EMTs here are very fast, there is police correspondence as well.
2. IF YOU DON'T HAVE MONEY TO PAY FOR THEM, they will refer you to a charity aid or medic aid to help pay for the bills. They will treat you first before you pay.
3. They make sure that before you leave the hospital is that you are in good condition.
4.Sanitation is a must as well as patient care services.
5. Although there is a language barrier, they try to know where the pain is and what.
6. They inform you of your rights and other things that you needed to know while being treated. (like the right for information regarding the results of your test)
7.If you tell your doctor that you don't have the money to buy your medicine. some doctors will give you medicines good for a month or so.
8.Some doctors here are very warm and friendly. Some don't boast so much arrogance. Every one is equal in their eyes.
9.When the patient asks for a coffee or crackers or fruit etc., they would provide you of it. Free of charge.
10. For discharges of patients under health insurance or medic aid, it only takes you 1hour or 2 before discharge.

I know that our mother country can do so much better than this. They don't need to blame about the low funds and such, but I do hope that they make an effort to help out those who are in dire need. For example, dialysis is such an expensive treatment that most people who can not afford the treatment gets worst. It is such a pain to see those things.

There should be some reformation made both to our public & private hospitals. Although this wish is just a wish. This seems too unrealistic to happen...

Negativity VS Positivity

Me and Chef Mike Oberle from Iscahm

There were endless things that I wanted to do when I reach the age that I am currently in. 21 years of bad, mischievous, cocky, funny & sweet life has been endured and now I am in a state that I call my midlife crisis.. (lol)

As a kid, I fantasized myself as an actress/make-up artist. I was fond in acting and dancing, I was even with the theater club. It felt like the epitome of my dream when I starred as the Evil stepmother in our own version of Cinderella. Yet whenever grown ups ask me what I wanted to have as a career I always said,

" I want to become a lawyer. I don't want to be a pro bono. I will defend the criminals for they have the money"

The elders would always laugh at it for someone so young to say such a thing.

When my parents disapprove of this, I told them that I wanted to be an archeologist. I am fascinated by history's treasures like the ruins in Egypt of the Piramids to the mummified corpses in the Mountain Province. I like learning things about culture and traditions up until now. My favorite subjects were history, english literature and grammar and so forth. My mummy simply replied "NO, it is too expensive and you won't be able to earn any good money."

Endless things that I wanted to learn yet my father disapprove of those things like when I wantd to learn ballet and gymnastics. Instead of those, he let me study karate and the piano. I stopped learning the piano because I know that it was not meant for me. My karate lessons stopped too when I did some moves on a classmate who was teasing me (yes I am a war freak.. My older sister would usually see me throwing fists at a bigger kid in the playground).

Freshman year in high school came, my mind changed, I wanted to become a forensic pathologist toxicologist or join the Armed Forces of the Philippines. A forensic pathologist toxicologist because of the science that revolves around the profession and finding clues on what caused the death of the victim. Joining the army, I wanted to show people that my looks can be deceiving. i love the ways, the discipline that some army people have.

Then it changed again, I wanted to become a chef as I was trying to be like my mum.

I believe I failed in that. I am very thankful that my parents let me take the course that I wanted but I was still unsure what I really wanted to do. Doing my best in the things that are needed to success in school regardless of what people would think, I did it.

I love the schools that I went thru when I was in college. The people that I was able to meet help build up who I am now other than my family.

Whenever my mentors (Chef Hans, Chef Gandler, Chef Uli, Chef Mike, Chef Manoj, Chef Gene Cordova, Mr. Subillaga, Chef Pauline, My profs in English subjects & Dr. Altonaga ) share their experiences to me, I feel happy because of the inspiration that were building up within... There was a school competition that scared me so much that my knickers were falling off. I know that I am not the best in school, became the biggest hindrance in my life. YEt, I was able to succeed in it. Graduation came, I never went to it because the price was to steep. I was able to earn my diploma.

Then here comes the job interviews. Knowing my parents when I was able to get job offers for certain companies in the middle east and for cruise ships.. All that I can see, feel and hear on their actions are NO. Then locally there were no job positions available for the job that I wanted to get which even made me low. My self confidence went crashing down. I started to despise the profession that I was hoping to love more than ever.

I tried to apply for jobs that has someething to do with Hospitality and I failed due to my facial and body structure. They said that I needed to go to Dr. Manny and Pie Calayan or to Dra. Vicki Belo to do some wonders for me & I don't meet their requirements.. (now this is what you call discrimination)

Then I went to work for Telemarketing companies where I excelled. My family was not very happy about it.. They would always make me feel guilty by saying things that "I worked hard for that damned course you wanted! *#*@#*?!. " that even made me confused...

Until now, I am still puzzled by my skills. I never knew which one to cultivate. I have a lot of dreams that were shattered by poverty and low self-esteem. Still pondering which would suite me well for thelife ahead. I am at the bridge of the crossroad that I am taking now. The bridge is still covered in fog, yet, I can feel that there is something beyond it.

More time to think... HAizst!

House of Saddam

Another day has passed by and I decided to blog about the mini series called "House of Saddam" Why blog about this? The reason why I decided to blog about this is because of the traits that I was able to see in the show. Made me reflect about being human and errors that most of can do. Let me give you those words that I was able to see in the whole show...

Loyalty
Loyal - 1. Faithful to one's country, friends, ideals, etc.
2. showing such faithfulness adv. loyalty.

I was in awe how some of his supporters are still loyal to him even though he was already ousted as President of Iraq. His close supporters or followers believed in him that he would be back in power.

Deception and traitor

Deception - 1. a deceiving or being deceived.
2. an illusion or fraud

Traitor
Traitor - one who betray one's country, cause, friends, etc.

When he felt threatened by someone who opposes his ideas, he finds a way or 2 to make sure that that person is 6 feet underground. To him, there are no friends & no family when it came to business nor politics. He's not the person that you don't want to cross with.

Greed - noun, excessive or rapacious desire, esp. for wealth or possessions.

As far as I can see, he is the type of person who was powered by greed to attain his goal. When he was still with the baathist party he was rising in the ranks than usual for being notoriously good with torturing people.

Merciful

Mercy - compassionate or kindly forbearance shown toward an offender, an enemy, or other person in one's power; compassion, pity, or benevolence: Have mercy on the poor sinner.
2. the disposition to be compassionate or forbearing: an adversary wholly without mercy.
3. the discretionary power of a judge to pardon someone or to mitigate punishment, esp. to send to prison rather than invoke the death penalty.
4. an act of kindness, compassion, or favor: She has performed countless small mercies for her friends and neighbors.
5. something that gives evidence of divine favor; blessing: It was just a mercy we had our seat belts on when it happened.
—Idiom
6. at the mercy of, entirely in the power of; subject to: They were at the mercy of their captors. Also, at one's mercy.

It was astounding for me that he was able to show mercy to his First born son named Uday. He knew that Uday was doing some crazy antics yet he made it clear to his son about being responsible on his own actions.

The show was really amazing and kudos for the actors who portrayed the Husseins.. The one that made me a bit teary eyed was when Saddam visited the graves of his 2 sons and his grandchild Mustafa. It was a very sad moment for me. He might be a bad guy yet he was still able to show human qualities that makes him human. He was capable of showing love. He has the biggest pride I have ever seen. He stick to his ideas until his last breath..

I am not saying that he's a great man... It just shows that he's human like us..

It's up to here right now.. I am currently expiriencing a block in my mind, unable to write anything.. I'll just continue on my next blog about my reaction about the mini series..

REMOVING FREEDOM IN the Pinoy Blogosphere?

Sweeping Pinoy Blogosphere? Does that mean sweep the blogosphere with a broom or walis tingting? IS IT REMOVING THE FREEDOM OF SPEECH AS WELL?

A couple of days ago I was able to read one of Reyn's blog regarding this issue. I went to read on his site as well as the other links that lead me to a so called demigod blogger.

Having said that, I found it rather revolting to learn that some bloggers (I would not mention names here since I exercise ethics in this site) are selling themselves to the highest bidder. Yes, they are selling their very souls to corporate Public Relations practitioners (and Malacanang press operators). Worst, some blogger even sold their own colleagues to these reputation agents for reportedly a huge fee. A list supposedly exist, with the names of political and non-political bloggers and given to a politico who reportedly paid this blogger a huge sum.
I was very appalled on what he (demigod blogger)wrote on his blog regarding bloggers who advertise in their site? What is he trying to do? Prevent us from writing what we feel that is right or wrong? So does he mean that we can't blog anymore because we are advertising something or someone in our so called sacred place? And how sure is he that the unnamed bloggers are getting paid for it?

Why oh why, he is stepping on our RIGHT to freedom of speech? He is like detaining us free souls to blog what we want to? How sure is HE that the unnamed blogger is being paid for advertising the so called politician? Why not go directly to the person?

Let's talk about the BILL OF RIGHTS specifically section 4, 7 and 18 (1987 Philippine Constitution)

Article III
BILL OF RIGHTS
(1987 Philippine Constitution)

Section 4. No law shall be passed abridging the freedom of speech, of expression, or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble and petition the government for redress of grievances.

Section 7. The right of the people to information on matters of public concern shall be recognized. Access to official records, and to documents and papers pertaining to official acts, transactions, or decisions, as well as to government research data used as basis for policy development, shall be afforded the citizen, subject to such limitations as may be provided by law.

Section 18. (1) No person shall be detained solely by reason of his political beliefs and aspirations.

(2) No involuntary servitude in any form shall exist except as a punishment for a crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted.

For the American Constitution? The FIRST AMMENDMENT
First Ammendment
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

And what about this? Pointing at people? plea?

YOU--YOU KNOW WHAT YOU DID--SHAME ON YOU! Shame that you sold your very soul to the highest bidder. Shame that you even sold your friends, telling politicos and marketing managers that you own them when you know in your heart that you don't own anyone. Bloggers are not commodities. We are not for sale!

Everybody who considers himself a member of the Pinoy blogosphere expected this to happen. Like any other field, there will be rotten ones who would corrupt and would offer the poisoned fruit. But, no one, expected it to happen so soon. People like Butch Dado and his lovely wife Noemi, Dang, Janet, JV and all others are trying their darnest best to keep the Pinoy Blogosphere clean as a whistle but this stupid ingrate tried to spoil everything.

To my fellow bloggers, hear my plea---MAKE THE PHILIPPINE BLOGOSPHERE CLEAN. DON'T ALLOW THIS HALLOWED PLACE OF FREE EXPRESSION BE CORRUPTED BY CORPORATE SPONSORSHIPS, POLITICAL OPERATORS AND WHAT HAVE YOU. WE MUST POLICE OUR RANKS. WE MUST STAY CLEAR OF PEOPLE WHO USE US JUST TO PROMOTE A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT, DEFEND A DIRTY POLITICIAN OR DESTROY REPUTATIONS.

BLOGGERS ARE PURE SOULS. BLOGGING IS SACRED. BLOGGING IS THE TRUEST EXPRESSION OF THE SELF. BLOGGING IS OUR "I".

THOSE WHO SOLD THEIR SOULS SHOULD EXPECT THEIR DEATHS VERY SOON. AND I MEAN SOON. (THAT'S FIGURATIVE, FOOL!)

About selling our souls? FYI, it is not his soul that we are selling but our own. Who is he to say that? Is he the new reincarnated Savior of the Human RACE of PINOY BLOGOSPHERE? Come on now, let's cut the crap.. What's wrong with socializing and promoting your site to other people? Is it that bad to let other people know what you think and get their opinions as well..

I know that I am sounding like an old broken recorder. But whenever I blog, as much as possible I try to be discreet. This is my way of releasing my stress and anxiety. When I blog about something, I try to investigate and learn as well what the otherside has to offer, their story..

Well now I know that there are people who are close minded, thinking about benefits that they would receive. Being selfish and all that hoopla.

Are you planning on monopolizing the blogosphere as well? You are acting like you are from an Aryan race! Treating the free spirited bloggers parasites that should be annihalited? Now that's being Adolf Hitler all over! Or just being jealous of the popularity that some other bloggers are getting. This is our so called segregation..

IS IT THAT BAD TO RESPECT SOME ONE'S OPINION? IF YOU WANT TO SCRUTINIZE IT, BE DISCREET ABOUT IT!

Haizt! I'll just watch the bio thing about Saddam Hussien muna!

tschuck...

Why blame the government

President George W. Bush and Philippine presid...Image via Wikipedia

Hello dear readers! I was able to come across a site about hate towards the Philippine government, specifically, Madame President Gloria Arroyo.. I don't mean to offend you guys about this and I do respect your opinion towards the government & please respect my point of views as well.

Based on what I can see and read about the hate in our government, all that the activists (I can't think of any alternate word)can call out is the negativity that has happened when GMA sat down. Aren't we not the ones who voted for her back in Edsa 2 & the elections back in 2005 (is this right?)?

Come to think of it, all of those negative issues should not be connected to her directly. I am not a Pro - GMA nor Anti - GMA, I am just worried for my countrymen that if all they do is to rally all the way, how can they sustain their jobs? Ok, you might say that most of them are jobless. Here's the thing, look for a job then. Jobs are very scarce in the country right now but the thing is that this venom is happening all over the world.

"In any government in the whole world, there will be and always will be corrupt officials.."

I know that Filipinos are very smart than ever before & I do applaud them for fighting what they deem is right. Everyone knows for sure that if there is a rally, most of the times, bad things happen. I don't know why they point at the president when things go bad in such occasions. Here's it, when people get rowdy in such occasions, the police, the so called "public defenders", they will be patient as much as possible to maintain the peace. If the crowd goes way over board, they would do such repercussions so that the civilians who are not associated with it will be safe.

Do you think that some of the politicians in our country are not corrupt? The most corrupt flaunt their coveted wealth in public.Even the barangay tanods are coveting from the people that they are suppose to serve! It is sad that instead of helping out with the job crisis, health issues, upgrading infrastructures, and upliftng the education of the Filipino youth, all they think about is ousting GMA. Think about the people first before jumping in to other problems that would not benefit the nation.

Now about the rallies, I was able to talk to one of our household help (back in P.I) and asked her why she was not able to go to work the day I asked her to come. She nonchalantly told me that she went to a rally in Batasan because some one told them that they would be given Php 500 and free food? Unfortunately, she told me that she was not given those material things that were promised to her. I find it ludacris whenver rally leaders or promoters promise this to our less fortunate brothers and sisters. It signifies laziness for me, teaching the false things or encouraging them about bribery.

"Give a man a fish; you have fed him for today. Teach a man to fish; and you have fed him for a lifetime"

me”—Author unknown
Venturing in the past, I find Marcos as a great leader. I know for some that people are against him but the infrastructures that were built during his era are timeless.. Yes, He is corrupt but he was able to do things that benefited the nation.

How about idiotic presidents? Oh man, there were 2 presidents that are so stupid that I don't want to say out their names. A disgrace, to the country (the question is why was the first one elected when that candidate does not have any political background?! For the second candidate, do you think he is a good example towards the youth?)!

And one more thing, why are some Filipinos upset when the Philippine Peso value is going up? It is a good sign that the economy is doing well. Why think of it as a negative thing when it is giving a positive outlook?

Before blaming the government, think first of the things that you have done already for the country? Think about this? Were you able to do something to make it a better place to live in? Were you able to contribute something that would benefit your country men?

This will be my first and last blog regarding politics...

Glum December Part 2

This is the part 2 of my so called Glum December....

It was December 18, 2007 when I received a message from one of my soul sisters. Why soul sister? We create such a bond when we were in high school. The first time that I was able to converse with her, it felt like I have known her for years. I had some crazy run ins with her brother yet she was there to comfort me and such. Her name is *Mei. Knowing her by heart I know it when something's not working right for her of if she's joking around.

The message stated that she was asking prayers for strength and spiritual guidance for her brother.. I was like "Strength and Spiritual Guidance?", I texted her back like a fox chasing on hare.

"What's the matter girl are you joking with me or something? I know you wouldn't say such things about *Bun.. "

"*Bun died yesterday from aneurysm in the brain. He never woke up. "' she replied back.

I fell silent. *Bun, he was such an idiot back then but I always treasured the wacky memories we had together. I owe him so much gratitude because if it wasn't for him, I would never be able to meet *Mei.

I decided to go to his wake even though I had a feeling that I was getting a fever & an incoming asthma attack. *Mei's my soul sister, I said it to myself.,I need to be there for her even though it's not good for me to be there (you how the Chinese are very strict with traditions.. I'm happy that they were not.). Going to his wake, chills were all around me. Thoughts were saying, "Reeze, this is the last time you would say farewell to him." I was ready to face the inevitable.

*Mei, met me at the front door. I was such a nervous wreck. I was happy that I was able to see familiar face in the crowd. I went near his casket, said a little prayer to him. Their grandma came to my side, she whispered to me, "Isn't me grandson handsome? Look at him."

"Yes ma'am, he is handsome." I replied stopping my emotions to get the best of me.

I feel the crowd in the room so I decided to go out and light up a cigarette. *Mei accompanied me. We talked about the good times that we had. We were all giggling when she suddenly cried.. She was asking why they have to take *Bun when everything is changing. I was lost for words. I gently said to her that *Bun is in a better place now and I know that this time, he would be able to look after her much better than before.

We just both sat there outside looking at the dark sky, lighted by the stars.

"*Mei, I know how it feels to lost some one who is so precious to you and when you know that they are turning a new leaf. We would not know the main reason why we was called back by HIM. For all I know is that he would always be there watching you guys. You need to be strong for your parents as well.. Moving on is hard but I am not saying that you forget *Bun. He would always be there here" I said by touching her chest (OMG, senti moment).

It'll be *Bun's 1 year death anniversary by the next following days.

I hope *Mei's doing much better now..

.... next would be part 3
